Terms of use
The short version
- These terms are the agreement between you and GetWear Ltd for the app. The privacy notice sits beside them and says what happens to your data.
- Your photos stay yours. You let us use them to run the app for you, and for nothing else.
- Romy is an AI, and the looks and try-on pictures the app makes are generated. They are suggestions, never advice, and they will sometimes be wrong.
- When you buy a piece you buy it from the shop, not from us.
- Free costs nothing. getWear+ is a subscription sold through Apple: it renews until you cancel it in your Apple ID’s settings, and when you cancel you keep it to the end of the period you paid for. The subscription, at a glance.
- Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it with Apple first.
Who we are
is made by:
GetWear Ltd Registered in England and Wales Company number 17220112 Registered office: 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom [email protected]These terms are an agreement between you and us. By creating an account you accept them, so read them, and read the privacy notice too. If you have a question about either, write to [email protected].
Your account
Anyone aged 16 or over can sign up. You sign in with Apple, with Google or with a code we email you, and there is no password. By continuing you confirm you are 16 or over. If we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we close it and delete what it holds.
One account is for one person. Keep the email address or the Apple or Google account you sign in with safe, because anyone who can open it can open . If you think someone else has got in, write to [email protected] and we’ll help you lock them out.
You use for yourself, not for a business.
Your photos stay yours
Everything you give us stays yours: the photos of your pieces, of a day you wore and of yourself, what you tell Romy, your sizes and your notes. Nothing in these terms makes any of it ours.
So that the app can work, you give us permission to store it, copy it, change it (cut a piece out of its background, draw it on white, put it in a look, try it on you) and send it to the services the privacy notice names, only to run for you. That permission is not for advertising, not for publishing anything you have not shared, not for selling, and not for training a model of our own. It ends when you delete the thing or your account, apart from our backups, which clear within 30 days.
Only add what is yours to add. A photo of yourself for a try-on must be of you. A photo with someone else in it needs their agreement.
What Romy and the app make
Romy is an AI, not a person. Her words are written by AI models from what you have told her and the pieces you own, and the services that run them are named in the privacy notice.
A look is the app’s suggestion of what to wear together, from your own pieces and the weather. A try-on is a picture generated from your photo and your pieces: an illustration, not a photograph of you in those clothes, and it will get things wrong, a sleeve, a fall, a shade. A drawing of a piece on white is generated from your photo of it.
All of it is a suggestion, made by a machine, and none of it is professional advice of any kind: not about your health, your body, your money or anything else. Use your own judgement, and don’t buy something on the strength of a generated picture alone.
Reporting what the app made
If Romy says something, or the app makes a look or a picture, that is offensive, harmful or simply wrong, tell us: write to [email protected], with a screenshot and a line about what happened if you can. We read every message, and we use what you report to fix what made it.
Sharing
When you share a look or a try-on, the app makes a link, and anyone with the link can see what you shared until you stop sharing in the app. A try-on is shared only after you agree to make it public, and your original photo never is. A month leaves differently: the app draws it as a picture and hands it to your phone’s share sheet, so once sent it is out of the app’s reach, and your own photos are in it only if you turn them on. If you connect Pinterest, what you save there is governed by Pinterest’s own terms as well as these.
Shopping
Romy can find pieces that would finish a look, and you can read a shop’s price, sizes and stock in the app. When you buy one:
- You buy it from the shop. The contract is between you and the shop. We are not the seller, not the shop’s agent and not part of your purchase.
- You pay on the shop’s own page, and the shop delivers, takes returns and refunds, and answers for the order. We never see your card.
- Nothing in the app buys anything for you. The last tap is always yours, on the shop’s page.
- Prices, sizes and stock come from the shops and can change or be out of date. The shop’s page is right when the two disagree.
If you said yes to it in the app, a shop link may pay us a small commission when you buy. It never changes your price, and saying no opens the shop by its plain link instead.
getWear+, your subscription
is free to use, with daily and monthly allowances. getWear+ raises them. You choose it in the app, under You then Plan, which also shows today’s allowances for each plan.
- Free Nothing to pay
- Your whole wardrobe, with daily looks, try-ons each month and messages to Romy each day, up to the allowances in the app.
- getWear+, monthly £7.99 or€7.99 a month
- Higher allowances for looks, messages to Romy, try-ons and Live, and the shopping that finishes a look. Renews every month.
- getWear+, yearly £67.99 or€67.99 a year
- The same as monthly, paid once a year. Renews every year.
- Founding member £59.99 or€59.99 a year
- All of getWear+, paid yearly, at a price held for as long as your subscription stays active. Renews every year. Sold to the first 1,000 people only.
- Bought through Apple. getWear+ is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Apple charges your Apple ID when you confirm, and handles the payment, the receipt and any refund. We never see your card.
- It renews until you cancel. Each period renews automatically at the same length and the price then in force, and Apple may charge for the next period up to 24 hours before it starts. To stop the next renewal, cancel at least a day before the current period ends.
- Cancel in your Apple ID’s settings. On your iPhone: Settings then your name then Subscriptions then getWear then Cancel Subscription. Apple explains it in Cancel a subscription from Apple. Deleting the app does not cancel.
- After you cancel you keep getWear+ until the end of the period you paid for. Then you are on Free. Nothing is deleted: your wardrobe, looks and everything else stay.
- Founding member’s price stays the same at every renewal for as long as your subscription stays active. If it ends, the held price ends with it.
- No free trial. Free is the way to try .
- Refunds are Apple’s. Apple takes the payment, so Apple decides on refunds and pays them: ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple’s own terms give consumers in the UK and the EU a right to withdraw within 14 days of the receipt, and say when it applies. Your rights as a consumer are untouched by anything here.
- Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Apple keeps charging until you cancel it in your Apple ID’s settings, so cancel first.
- Restore. Your plan belongs to your account and works wherever you sign in to it. If you reinstall, You then Plan then Restore purchases brings it back.
- Price changes. If the price of getWear+ changes, Apple tells you before it applies to your subscription and, where its rules ask, asks you to agree. A Founding member’s price does not rise while the subscription stays active.
During the beta on TestFlight nothing is for sale. A tester’s getWear+ is a grant from us for the beta, with nothing to pay.
The App Store, and Apple
When you download from the App Store, your licence to use the app is Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, the standard one, made between you and us. These terms sit beside it: the licence covers the app you download, and these terms cover your account, the service and getWear+.
Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for , its content or its support: we are. Write to [email protected] or read Support. Apple’s own terms cover what you buy from Apple.
The beta
While is in beta it is unfinished. Things appear, change and sometimes disappear, and some days something breaks. TestFlight is Apple’s, and Apple’s terms for it apply as well as these. In the beta, You then Give feedback is the way to tell us what to fix. If you send us an idea, we may use it without owing you anything for it.
Using getWear fairly
Don’t:
- add anything unlawful, anything that is not yours to add, or a photo of someone who has not agreed to it;
- try to make a try-on or any picture of someone other than yourself, or anything sexual or intimate;
- pretend to be someone else, or let others use your account;
- take the app apart, scrape it, overload it, drive it with a script or resell access to it;
- use it to harm, harass or deceive anyone.
Every look and every answer costs us real money to make, so the allowances are for a person using the app, not for a machine.
Ending it
You can stop at any time. In the app, You then Delete my data deletes your account and everything in it at once, and our backups clear within 30 days; Delete account says what goes and how. Cancel getWear+ with Apple first.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms in a serious way, or that puts others or the service at risk. We’ll tell you why, unless the law stops us. If we ever stop offering , we’ll tell you in the app well before, and you won’t pay for time you cannot use: if you already have, you are entitled to that money back.
If something goes wrong
We make with reasonable care and skill. We can’t promise it will always be available, never lose a moment’s work, or always be right about what suits you, and what the app makes is a suggestion.
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss nobody could have foreseen, for business losses (the app is for your own personal use), or for what happens between you and a shop.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us limit, and nothing in them takes away your rights as a consumer.
The law and the courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in England or Wales, a claim goes to its courts; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can bring it there. If you live in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you can bring a claim in its courts.
If something is wrong, write to [email protected] first. We would rather put it right.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top moves and the earlier text stays published below, at its own address. When a change matters to you, we tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you don’t want to go on under the new terms, you can stop at any time, as above.
